IB UltraStudy Tool

Privacy

Your data, in plain English

Many people using this study tool are under 18, so it collects as little as possible and keeps your progress private by default. Last updated 14 October 2026.

Who runs this

IB Ultra Study Tool is a private study space made by Danylo (Daan1k) for one IB class. It is not run by the International Baccalaureate or by a company, and only people with a class invite can get in.

What is stored, and why

  • Your account: a display name and avatar colour. If you sign in with Google, also your Google email address, account id and profile picture link. For guest accounts, a scrambled (hashed) version of your recovery code. We cannot read the code itself, which is why we can only show it once.
  • Your class: which class you joined and when.
  • Your learning: the answers you submit, your marks, topic progress, flashcard reviews, mistakes, saved items, study plans and tests you add. This is what makes recommendations and revision work.
  • Study time: minutes are counted only while you are actively using a lesson or practice page. We never record what you type or your keystrokes, only that you were active.
  • Your settings: theme, reading options, calculator, language and privacy choices.
  • Security records: your signed-in devices (the browser name and when it was last used), and short-lived counters that stop people guessing invite or recovery codes. These keep only a scrambled form of your network address and are deleted within a day.

What is never done

  • No adverts, no analytics and no third-party trackers.
  • Your data is never sold or shared with companies for marketing.
  • Cookies are only used to keep you signed in, remember an invite link you opened, and remember your theme and reading settings.

Who can see what

WhoWhat they can see
YouEverything in your account. You can download it all at any time.
ClassmatesOnly what you switch on: the leaderboard shows your display name, avatar, XP and streak; friends can see your streak or recent topics if you share them. Never your answers, scores or mistakes.
Your teacherYour study activity in their class, such as minutes studied and topics practised, so they can help the class. Not your recovery code or sign-in details.
The adminDanylo runs the app and its database, so he can technically see stored data. He uses it only to keep the tool working and safe.

The optional AI tutor

The AI tutor is off unless the admin switches it on. When it is on and you ask it something, your question and the related lesson text are sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude model, to write an answer. Do not put personal details in tutor questions.

Where it is kept and for how long

When the app is online, data is stored in a hosted database with a cloud provider. Your data stays until you delete your account. Sign-ins end by themselves after 30 days without use.

Your choices

  • Change what classmates and friends can see at any time in Settings, under Privacy.
  • Download a copy of everything about you in Settings, under Your data.
  • Delete your account in Settings. This removes your account and all of your data straight away and cannot be undone.

Questions

If something here is unclear, or you want something changed or removed, talk to Danylo (the class admin) or your teacher. You can also ask a parent or guardian to get in touch for you.
